on the flip side though, it’s not all bad news as iOS and Android is getting the cross-play treatment, meaning those on these devices will be able to play together. Unfortunately, the PUBG cross-platform 2019 update is not going to apply to the PC version of the game, sad news for PC gamers. Jong states “One of the things that everyone wanted to have is cross-platform play for the consoles,” and further added, “Now that Xbox players can join the matches with PlayStation players, it will make the matchmaking pool bigger globally and also offer more competition.” We’re not holding our breath for those dates though, as the PUBG Corporation has been known to be unreliable at sticking to confirmed scheduled in the past for any game updates. The new feature will spend in the region of “a week in beta,” with the main servers confirmed to be up and running at the beginning of October. We won’t have to wait too long before we can take the PUBG cross-platform 2019 servers for a spin, the test servers will effectively be up and running next month according to Koosung Jeong, console Producer for the game. The game saw a full release later in the same year and was a smashing success. PUBG was released in early access on Steam back in March 2017. Whether that covers both of the last- and current-generation consoles remains to be seen, which it probably should. That includes consoles, PC, and perhaps mobile devices. The same source who leaked the sequel last year is now noting that the game will feature cross-play between all major platforms. Provided that reports are accurate, PUBG 2.0 and PUBG Mobile 2.0 should be officially announced in the coming weeks.
